Governance
The Foundation, modeled after a similar program at Auburn University, Auburn,
AL was officially incorporated as a Delaware non-profit corporation on 27
November 2002. Bylaws were established in March 2003, appropriate to the
corporation and recognized by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization 28
July 2003. We file an annual form 990 with the IRS.
The purpose of the Foundation was to establish an organization to undertake
religious activities that will primarily benefit college and university
students. The Foundation will provide appropriate facilities, services, and
activities to address their spiritual needs, provide spiritual nurturing, and
humanitarian service opportunities for these students that are customarily
provide by churches or campus ministries.
The original Bylaws called for 11 board members. It was increased to 13 in
January 2007. The Board of Directors are all unpaid volunteers and assume the
responsibility for soliciting, management, and disbursement of funds in keeping
with the Foundation Bylaws and certificate of incorporation and the highest
ethical standards.
The Board members are all unpaid volunteers.
